The Bird Brains then attended the Sacramento Regional at UC Davis. The robot was one of the best robots in the entire competition, ranking second overall. Even though the Bird Brains were once again eliminated in the semifinals, they, against all odds, won the illustrious Chairman’s Award. The Chairman’s Award is the best and most prestigious award a team can receive, and instantly qualified the Bird Brains for the World Championships in St. Louis.
