Guess Who’s Back?

Many birds, including species of gulls, raptors, and ducks, change eye color as they age from juveniles to adults. This is likely an adaptation that helps these birds recognize maturity, which is what our birds do as they continue to adapt with our team. This week was a busy one for the Bird Brains as we went to a local farmers market, began assembling our Workshop-In-A-Box initiative boxes, and finished prototyping the last subsystems on our robot.

Update on ST

The ST side has continued to work diligently to get the new robot designed and prototyped. CAD and Fabrication started prototyping a second intake system for the robot while some members began documenting for our engineering binder. Programming assembled April tags as well as finalized codes for swerve modules and our autonomous sequence(s). The fabrication team built some more swerve modules, began manufacturing field elements, and brainstormed more prototypes for the bot. Finally, strategy created a game rules quiz. Every team member needs to get a 90% on the quiz to attend comps!

Big things for IR

This week, the Bird Brains launched our Workshop in A Box, or WIB, Initiative! Miranda Renteria, our Director of Outreach, has been hard at work assembling 10 initial Workshop boxes and reaching out to anyone interested in receiving a WIB. Soon, these boxes will be ready to send out! Check out our launch here: (instagram.com/p/Cn0iul3r9bg/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=). Along with that, this last Saturday, our team attended the Farmer’s Market! During the market, our team members went out and demo last year’s bot. They also gathered some donations for our open house silent auction.
